Cancellation Policy
Once your photoshoot is booked we don’t offer cancellation with a refund but we will work with you to reschedule your shoot to the nearest available date or to a date that works for you. We start working on your shoot the minute you book and will have already put unrecoverable time and energy into creating a bespoke and exceptional experience for you upon arrival. We encourage our guests to invest and commit to this journey together. And we will stand by our commitment to get you, not only what you need and expect, but to give you an experience that you will not soon forget and the assets from that experience that will exceed your wildest dreams. It is our commitment that your experience with Studio Romy is contributes to your desired success and deep satisfaction.
What do I need to know before my shoot?
We will send you an email 3 days before you shoot reminding you of this but it’s great to start thinking about preparing as soon as you book. You will want to start envisioning the story you want to tell now. We encourage clients to create Pinterest boards for mood and vibe, write a list or a journal entry about what you most want to reveal, experience and bring forward and even start thinking about wardrobe ahead of time.
You are most welcome to send your idea development to us at any time. We see this as a collaboration and want to meet you in your creative process.
Before your portrait shoot we suggest the following:
Get well hydrated and plenty of sleep.
Mind your nails as your hands will likely be in every shot, so a good manicure may be worth the investment but at very least remove old polish and clean them up a bit.
Moisturize well.
If you are having your make up and hair done please request no heavy powder finishing and that they go light on eye liner and make up. We can always enhance what’s there but we cannot reverse a heavy liner or lipstick (please avoid having lipliner outside your natural lip line, this doesn’t photograph well - and we can plump lips in post :-).
What can I expect the during my shoot?
We can provide excellent hair and make-up services on site at the studio for additional costs if you let us know ahead of time. We do not refer out to other services as they are hard to keep up with in a booming city.
There is a bathroom/dressing room at the studio and a rack for your clothes and accessories. We encourage you to bring anything and everything to your shoot. Better safe than sorry and we’ll have a blast styling your shots together.
We will always have sparkling water, tea and coffee, most likely some snacky things but please let us know what’s on your ‘rider’ and we’ll happily supply our stash with your favorites. We want you feeling super spoiled her so don’t be shy.
Can I bring a friend to take some social media photos?
You can bring a friend, yes. But we do not allow our sessions to be shot from behind the photographer. Please understand that after years of seeing our shots taken from over our shoulders and quickly posted to Insta or Facebook we’ve learned that this can dilute the final product and confuse the viewers (and the friend taking the photos) - after all, that’s not really their photos, it’s yours and ours and it’s not a finished product. So if you could kindly wait for the final shots we’d be grateful and hope you do share them.
HOWEVER, if you need immediate social media work to share right away we do offer BTS (behind the scenes) videos and slide shows and a small cost to anyone interest. We highly encourage our clients to get this add on and enjoy it as a keepsake and a social media reel or story.
Your friends can sit back, snack and hang with no work and no worries. They’re more than welcome to the party.
How long will it take to get my final photos?
We usually turn photos over to our clients within a week. Printed work, framed images, books and folio boxes can take 2 weeks to a month for delivery. If the project is larger, commercial or an event, or if the project includes video the turn around may take between 3 weeks to 1 month. We will discuss these delivery schedules during the development stage and layout a precise timeline for each client.
Do you offer prints or other products?
Yes! We love to see our work printed, framed and housed in beautifully crafted folio boxes or books. We will offer an option list with pricing at your shoot or after should you be interested.
Can I have the RAW files?
In short, no. We offer high res jpgs and tif files for portrait, brand and commercial clients. We have client sign a release and usage contract before every shoot which carefully lays out our agreement with you. This can be refined per client as needed however we do not do work for hire at the prices listed on this website. A total buyout of any image produced here would be negotiated between the studio and client per project.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
